Aylesbury U17's lose narrowly to Amersham & Chiltern
Written by Bob Hardman
Monday, 31 March 2008
Aylesbury under 17's met local rivals Amersham and Chiltern in the semi final of the South West Bowl competition on Sunday 30th march at Weedon lane. The pitch was very heavy although the sun was out.
Aylesbury Started the game with a quick try by pacey winger Rich Nicholls after receiving a peach of a pass from in form Fullback Wes McGympsy. Amersham replied in kind with a well worked try and conversion. Aylesbury then had to soak up the pressure from a big Amersham pack, who just before half time scored a push over try to leave the score 12 to 5 to A&C. The second half started as the first half had finished with a further try from the A&C pack, Aylesbury then rallied and took charge of the game and dominated both possession and territory, they kicked to penalties as A&C lost their discipline under the pressure, however as the under foot conditions worsened and with Aylesbury spending most of the remainder of the match in the opposition half they were unable to come back with a match winner, and some fantastic line breaks by both fly half Corey Hircock and Wes McGympsy under lined the A's attitude. However it was not to be as the game ended with a 17 to 11 win for the hosts. We wish A&C all the best in the final against Bristol .

Harry Mills
Written by Nigel Mellor
Tuesday, 01 May 2007
Ladies and gents.
As some of may know Young Harry mills was a Marlow under 12 player who sadly passed away last week, his funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon in Marlow.
The club has organised a wreath to be sent on behalf of everyone, but if you would care to make a donation to the charity or wish to visit the website please fee free.
Harry was a super young sportsman that played as many sports as he could be involved in. he will be sadly missed by so many. He was one of the players that took part in our junior festival and was in the winning Marlow team.
Our thought should go out to his parents and family at this time.
